Salt Flats

DAY 1: UYUNI - COLCHANI - SALT FLATS - SAN JUAN


6 – 7 am: Reception at the Uyuni Bus Station. After breakfast we will visit Colchani a small town dedicated to the exploitation of salt, here there is an artisan market, an ideal place to buy handicrafts made of salt. Later we will see the Ojos del Salar; this is where underground rivers form openings in the salt flat layer. Then we will visit the largest extension of salt in the world with more than 12,000 square km; we will arrive at Incahuasi Island or Isla Pescado (in the rainy season from January to March the itinerary will change) crossing through the middle of the salt flat for about an hour; once there, we will take a short walk to see the immensity of this great salt flat and admire the giant cacti that dominate the place. We will have a nice lunch in the middle of the salt flat and also will have time to walk around and play with our cameras doing optical tricks. Finally we will enjoy an amazing sunset and will go to San Juan to overnight

Hedionda Lagoon

DAY 2: SAN JUAN - LAGOONS - LAGUNA COLORADA


On this day, we will visit the high-altitude lagoons: Honda, Ramadita, and Hedionda. Each one with its own particularities. We will also stop at the Siloli Desert, the Stone Tree, and the Laguna Colorada, where we will spend the night.

Red Lagoon

DAY 3: LAGUNA COLORADA – LAGUNA VERDE – UYUNI

We will visit the Stone Tree, the incredible geysers, and the Laguna Colorada. Then we will go to the hot thermal waters, where we will enjoy a relaxing bath surrounded by beautiful scenery.


Finally, we will arrive at the Dali Desert, so called because of the interesting colors of its mountains that remind us of the artist’s paintings, we will be able to observe the Licancabur Volcano and the Green Lagoon located at its feet.


Return to the city of Uyuni or you can take the bus to Atacama.


  • It is possible to end the tour in San Pedro de Atacama (Chile).
  • If you want to end the tour in San Pedro, select the extra Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama
