Choquequirao Trek to Machupicchu

CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK TO MACHUPICCHU (8 DAYS), THE BEST OF CUSCO & THE SACRED VALLEY: 11 DAYS & 10 NIGHTS

TRIP AT A GLANCE

Travel from only: US$130 per day - 11 days starting only at US$1430 per person

This is the best program which will let you visit in few days the best of Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and the amazing trek linking the 2 best Incan sites Choquequirao and Machupicchu, it is also one of the best combinations to see and be in contact with the wonderful landscapes of the Andes, the Cloud Forest, its flora and fauna. Choquequirao is already a rival to Machu Picchu in terms of its size and splendor – and more of its buildings and llama-decorated terraces are being exposed each year. Our approach to this so-called 'Cradle of Gold' is by way of the awe-inspiring canyon of the Apurimac River, involving a descent and ascent of almost 2000 metres. We then have a day to explore the site, before setting off on trek through the rugged Cordillera Vilcabamba, a region dominated by impressive 6000 metre peaks including Pumasillo and Salcantay. Following a rarely-used Inca trail, we cross the Totora Pass (4500m), then turn north to descend the Rio Colpa, passing untouched Andean villages whose Quechua inhabitants still wear traditional dresses. Arriving at the cloud forest of the Rio Urubamba, this great trek finishes with a guided tour of Machupicchu and a climb to Huaynapicchu.
