Enjoy the bus ride and the amazing landscapes of the highlands between Cusco and Puno, Visit the Andahuaylillas Sistine chapel, the temple of the most important Incan god: Wiracocha, the Pucara pre-inca museum and the Titicaca lake which contains numerous islands whose inhabitants continue living as their ancestors with old customs and traditions. The Uros; where people live on “floating islands” which they have artificially made entirely of totora reeds, they still navigate using their traditional boats also made out of totora reeds. Taquile, Suasi, and Amantaní are known for the kindness of the residents, their ancestral skills in weaving, their pre-Columbian constructions, and amazing countryside. The Titicaca National Reserve (36,180 hectares) protects extensive stretches of totora reeds and various species of plants and animals.

DAY 1: CUSCO - PUNO

Transportation from your hotel to the bus or train station. This day you will have a bus ride with guided visits or you can choose to ride on the PERURAIL TITICACA train without ANY tours and an EXTRA cost of US$250 per person. Train only available on: Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Bus ride from Cusco to Puno visiting on the way a very beautiful chapel: Andahuaylillas; known as Sistine chapel of South America, the temple of Wiracocha (a very impressive Inca site) and the Pucara Museum. You will also have other stops for lunch & photos. Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Puno. (L)

- Bus Departure: 7 am / Arrival: 5 pm

- Train (non stop) Departure: 8 am / Arrival: 6-7 pm

Uros Floating Islands

DAY 2: TITICACA LAKE TOUR: Full day excursion to the beautiful Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world. Visit the Floating Islands (made of totora: reeds) of Uros, where the population still live as their ancestors did a thousand years ago. Later visit the Taquile Island, a remarkable community also with a great ethnic and cultural value; with the best weavers in the region. Quechua, the language of the Incas is kept alive and the islanders preserve their traditional very old costumes and treat visitors in very welcoming fashion. Pm return to the hotel in Puno. (B, L)


DAY 3: PUNO – JULIACA – LIMA

Transfer to the Juliaca airport to take the flight to Lima. (B)
