Salt Flats

DAY 1: UYUNI - COLCHANI - SALT FLATS (L)


6 – 7 am: Reception at the Uyuni Bus Station. After breakfast we will visit Colchani a small town dedicated to the exploitation of salt, here there is an artisan market, an ideal place to buy handicrafts made of salt. Then we will visit the largest extension of salt in the world with more than 12,000 square km; we will arrive at Incahuasi Island or Isla Pescado (in the rainy season from January to March the itinerary will change) crossing through the middle of the salt flat for about an hour; once there, we will take a short walk to see the immensity of this great salt flat and admire the giant cacti that dominate the place. We will have a nice lunch in the middle of the salt flat and also will have time to walk around and play with our cameras doing optical tricks. Later we will see the Ojos del Salar; this is where underground rivers form openings in the salt flat layer. Finally we will enjoy an amazing sunset and return to the salt hotel to overnight

Hedionda Lagoon

DAY 2: TRAIN CEMETERY - SAN CRISTOBAL - LAGOONS - SILOLI DESERT


We visit the train cemetery in Uyuni, where there are a large number of old inoperative steam locomotives. We continue to San Cristobal where one of the most modern mines in Bolivia is located. We continue our circuit to the Ollague Volcano. Then we will visit the amazing high-altitude lagoons: Laguna Honda, Laguna Ramadita and Laguna Hedionda. Each one has incredible beauty. Then we will enter the Siloli Desert, where the hotel is located.

DAY 3: SILOLI DESERT - RED LAGOON - DALI DESERT - GREEN LAGOON - UYUNI or ATACAMA


We will visit the Stone Tree, the incredible geysers, and the Laguna Colorada. Then we will go to the hot thermal waters, where we will enjoy a relaxing bath surrounded by beautiful scenery.


Finally, we will arrive at the Dali Desert, so called because of the interesting colors of its mountains that remind us of the artist’s paintings, we will be able to observe the Licancabur Volcano and the Green Lagoon located at its feet.

Return to the city of Uyuni to take the bus back to La Paz.
