Sun Island

DAY 1: PUNO - BORDER – COPACABANA – ISLAND OF THE SUN - LA PAZ


6 - 6:30 AM: Transfer from your hotel to the bus station in Puno to take the bus to the border: Kasani to go through the immigration procedures and continue to our destination (Lake Titicaca - Copacabana). First we will visit the town and the church where the famous image of the Virgin of Copacabana is located. Later we will take a boat to the legendary Island of the Sun, we will have a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant with an amazing view over the lake, later we will take a walk to the Inca Garden and the ruins of the Pilkokaina Palace (40min), built with uncarved stones, the door is trapezoidal with the purpose of supporting the enormous weight of the roof and the second flat. Finally, we return to Copacabana and take transport to the city of La Paz where you will spend the night.

DAY 2: LA PAZ CITY TOUR, CABLE CAR & VALLEY OF THE MOON – NIGHT BUS TO UYUNI

We will visit the most important sectors of the city of La Paz, such as Plaza Murillo, the Government Palace, the Legislative Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Then we will take the cable car, from where we will enjoy fantastic views of the city built between mountains. Later, we will walk through the traditional quarter, where we will find the popular Calle de las Brujas, an area where amulets, objects and plants used to fight evil spirits and perform Andean religious rituals are sold. We will end the tour with a visit to the Valley of the Moon, a beautiful place where you will see wonderful rock formations that will give you the feeling of being in a real lunar landscape.


Free afternoon.


In the evening, transfer to the bus station to take the tourist bus to Uyuni: TODO TURISMO (VIP service).

Salt Flats

DAY 3: UYUNI - TRAIN CEMETERY – SALT FLATS

6 – 7 am: Reception at the Uyuni Bus Station and transfer to the hotel. After breakfast we will visit the Train Cemetery, later we go to Colchani a small town dedicated to the exploitation of salt, here there is an artisan market, an ideal place to buy handicrafts made of salt. Then we will visit the largest extension of salt in the world with more than 12,000 square km; we will arrive at Incahuasi Island or Isla Pescado (in the rainy season from January to March the itinerary will change) crossing through the middle of the salt flat for about an hour; once there, we will take a short walk to see the immensity of this great salt flat and admire the giant cacti that dominate the place. We will have a nice lunch in the middle of the salt flat and also will have time to walk around and play with our cameras doing optical tricks. Later we will see the Ojos del Salar; this is where underground rivers form openings in the salt flat layer. Finally we will enjoy an amazing sunset and return to Uyuni to overnight

Hedionda Lagoon

DAY 4: FULL DAY LAGOONS – UYUNI - NIGHT BUS TO LA PAZ

8:00 am: We leave Uyuni to visit the amazing lagoons: Laguna Turquiri, Laguna Cañapa and Laguna Hedionda. Each of them has an incredible and unique beauty. We will also visit the Valley of the Rocks, a place where we can find different formations of eroded rocks. Finally we return to Uyuni to take the bus back to La Paz. Overnight on the bus.

DAY 5: LA PAZ

6 – 7 am: Reception at the bus station and transportation to the hotel. Free rest of the day
